Chianti eating, drinking and riding Tour

It started as an idea born on a ride late last season when I just wanted to connect with the area I was living in. An area I truly loved. It was simple. I wanted to ride these amazing roads without looking at a powermeter. I wanted to eat at my favorite restaurants and at the homes of my favorite friends without thinking of the scale. And I wanted to drink my favorite wines from the area by the bottle and not just a glass. Lunches would be at Paolo's in Lecchi so that I could sample all the amazing things he did from the pecorino with honey, to the great pastas, amazing crostini plates and incredible salads.

I sent out a tweet to see who wanted to join me and four brave souls made the trip for that first trip. This past spring eight came including Bill Gifford and Jason Gould from Bicycling Magazine. In the September 2011 issue of Bicycling Magazine they called it the "best ride on earth". So why stop there. September 30 - October 10 we will do another trip. 9 nights including l'Eroica white road ride on Sunday October 2nd. Next Spring during the last week of April we will plan another, and after that we will see. During that time I will share with people my favorite things in the area. The rides will be mellow and the eating and drinking will be serious. It's about sharing with people something they normally can't find. Discovering an area with an insider and sharing in these amazing relationships.
