Hello fro Portugal

I’m a little over a week from the start of the season and just finished the second training camp of the season. In December before the holidays about eleven male and five female riders got together on the Spanish islad of Tenerife for a week. The weather was great and the riding hard. In Tenerife you are either going up or your going down so we got plenty of clibing in. Most days we did between 3.5 and 5 hours and on the last day we rode up Mt. Teide the highest point in Spain. Although we didn’t go all the way to the top we did make it up about ¾ of the way and climbed for 2 hours straight, about 40 Kilometers.

We just finished our second camp in Tavira, Portugal and here the entire team was present. The camp was two weeks long and I came in a little sick wth a bug which didn’t make the first week that productive. Unfotunately I think I passed the bug to a few of my teammates and members of the team staff so I guess that I announced my arrival on the team. It was either me or the buffett. The riding was great. Last year they had rain everyday and this year although it rained a few days the weather was mostly good. Most days we rode between 3.5 and 6.5 hours including some time on the TT bikes. It was nice to practice some TT riding in the group and the bikes are super fast.

This week I’m going to tapper off a little bit and then start Etoile de Besseges the first race of the season on my calendar on Wednesday February 3rd. Let’s see how this season goes. As you can see I have a pretty good schedule and I’m looking forward to doing some of these races.
